Nigeria Crush Sierra Leone by 71 Runs in Quadrangular T20I Series

Nigeria Defend 136 to Record a Comfortable Victory in Lagos

Nigeria produced a strong all-round performance to defeat Sierra Leone by 71 runs in the Quadrangular T20I Series in Nigeria. The match was played at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos on September 27, with Nigeria successfully defending a total of 136.

Sierra Leone won the toss and elected to field, giving Nigeria the opportunity to bat first. Nigeria were bowled out for 136 in 19.4 overs, with several batters making useful contributions despite the innings losing wickets regularly. Ali Rahmon scored 26 from 14 balls, while Isaac Danladi made 22 from 19 deliveries.

Vincent Adewoye provided one of the most aggressive contributions for Nigeria, scoring 25 from only 14 balls with a strike rate of more than 170. His late-innings hitting helped Nigeria move towards a competitive total after the side had lost wickets during the middle overs.

Sierra Leone’s chase never developed as planned. Nigeria’s bowlers made early breakthroughs and kept the opposition under sustained pressure throughout the innings. Sierra Leone were eventually bowled out for just 65 in 19 overs, leaving them 71 runs short of the target.

Nigeria’s Abdullahi Ismail was particularly effective with the ball, taking four wickets for only eight runs from four overs. His spell played an important role in preventing Sierra Leone from building partnerships and helped Nigeria maintain control of the chase.

The result completed Nigeria’s campaign in the Quadrangular T20I Series with another convincing performance. The tournament also featured Nigeria A and Ghana, with Nigeria A eventually winning the inaugural competition after defeating Ghana by seven wickets in the final match of the tournament.
