Australia’s selectors are facing several important decisions ahead of the team’s upcoming Test tour of South Africa. Although Australia responded to their shock defeat in Darwin by beating Bangladesh in the second Test, concerns remain over the team’s batting lineup.
The biggest questions surround the top order. Marnus Labuschagne continues to struggle for consistent runs, while Jake Weatherald has already been dropped following Australia’s defeat in the opening Test against Bangladesh. Matt Renshaw was recalled as Weatherald’s replacement for the second Test.
Australia’s selectors must now consider whether additional changes are required before the South Africa series.
