India’s Women’s Asia Cup triumph has translated into major gains in the latest ICC Women’s T20I rankings, with Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma and Shree Charani among the biggest movers.
India’s successful Women’s Asia Cup 2026 campaign has brought further recognition for several of the team’s leading performers, with multiple Indian players making significant progress in the latest ICC Women’s T20I rankings. India won the tournament after defeating Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final, and the performances of their key players have been reflected in the updated rankings.
Shafali Verma was one of the biggest beneficiaries of India’s title-winning campaign. The explosive opener moved up one place to sixth in the T20I batting rankings after producing an outstanding tournament. She finished as the leading run-scorer of the Asia Cup with 236 runs, including a 64 in the semi-final and a match-winning 68 in the final against Sri Lanka.
Shafali’s latest rating of 741 points is her highest since October 2021. She is now only four rating points behind teammate Smriti Mandhana, who remains fifth with 745 points. Mandhana also enjoyed a productive tournament, scoring 213 runs in five innings as India secured another continental championship.
There was also movement in the bowling rankings. India’s Shree Charani retained the No. 1 position after another outstanding tournament. Her performances during the Asia Cup strengthened her position at the top, while teammate Deepti Sharma climbed to second in the bowling rankings after making a two-place jump.
Charani was one of the standout performers in the final against Sri Lanka, claiming four wickets for 20 runs. Her spell helped India defend their total of 183 for five as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 111. The performance capped an excellent tournament for the young left-arm spinner.
The latest rankings therefore provide another indication of India’s depth in T20I cricket. The team now has players making an impact across batting and bowling categories, while the Asia Cup title has given the squad additional momentum heading into future international assignments.
India’s record-extending eighth Asia Cup title was built on contributions from several players rather than one individual. The latest ICC rankings underline that collective success, with Shafali, Mandhana, Deepti and Charani all featuring prominently among the world’s leading T20I players.
