Pakistan U19 Women’s T20 Tri-Series Begins in Faisalabad

Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Set for Ten-Match Youth Competition

The Pakistan U19 Women’s T20 Tri-Series begins in Faisalabad on October 2, with Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka competing in a ten-match tournament at Iqbal Stadium. The opening match will see Pakistan face Bangladesh on Friday.

The tri-series will be played from October 2 to October 16 using a triple round-robin format. Each team will play six matches during the league phase, with the top two sides qualifying for the final on October 16. All matches will be played at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

Pakistan’s U19 side will be led by Fizza Fiaz, who has been retained as captain. The 20-member squad also includes players such as Qamrosh Farhan, Malaika Suhani, Pakeeza Shabbir and Afsheen Khan, who earned maiden call-ups after strong performances in the National Women’s U19 Tournament.

The PCB has selected the tournament as an important preparation opportunity for Pakistan’s emerging women’s cricketers. The upcoming ACC Women’s U19 Asia Cup and ICC Women’s U19 World Cup are among the major competitions on the development pathway, making the Faisalabad tri-series an opportunity for players to gain international match experience.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will provide the opposition throughout the competition. Pakistan’s second fixture is scheduled against Sri Lanka on October 3, before the teams continue through the triple round-robin schedule during the following two weeks.

The remaining league fixtures include Pakistan against Bangladesh on October 6 and 11, Pakistan against Sri Lanka on October 9 and 12, and the other Bangladesh-Sri Lanka matches on October 5, 8 and 14. The final is scheduled for October 16.

The PCB has also confirmed the tournament’s broadcast and streaming arrangements. PTV Sports will broadcast the final, while matches will be live-streamed on Tapmad and Tamasha in Pakistan. PCB’s official YouTube channel will also stream the matches for fans outside Pakistan.

The tournament begins with Pakistan taking on Bangladesh on October 2 at Iqbal Stadium. With three teams competing in a full triple round-robin format, the young players will have several opportunities to perform before the two finalists are decided.
