The third season of the Uttarakhand Premier League begins on September 21 with separate men’s and women’s T20 competitions in Dehradun.
The 2026 Uttarakhand Premier League is set to begin on September 21, bringing men’s and women’s franchise T20 cricket to the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun. The third season of the tournament will run until October 1 and features seven men’s teams and four women’s teams.
The women’s competition gets the tournament underway on September 21 with a double-header, while the men’s competition begins on September 22. The men’s schedule includes 21 league matches before the knockout stage, with the Eliminator scheduled for September 30 and the final on October 1.
Seven teams will compete in the men’s tournament: Dehradun Warriors, USN Indians, Haridwar Elmas, Tehri Titans, Rishikesh River Kings, Pithoragarh Hurricanes and Nainital Tigers. The round-robin format means every men’s team will play the other six teams once during the league phase.
The competition also features several recognised Uttarakhand players. The men’s teams include players such as Akash Madhwal, Jagadeesha Suchith, Kunal Chandela, Avneesh Sudha, Yuvraj Chaudhary, Tejasvi Jaiswal and Mayank Mishra, giving the tournament a strong local-cricket focus.
The men’s opening fixture is scheduled for September 22, when Haridwar Elmas will face Nainital Tigers at 7:30 PM. Other matches will be played in daytime and evening slots, with fixtures continuing through September 30 before the final takes place on October 1.
The inclusion of both men’s and women’s competitions provides a broader platform for players from Uttarakhand and surrounding cricketing regions. The tournament is also designed to provide competitive T20 opportunities and greater visibility for local talent. With the women’s competition beginning first, the 2026 UPL will open another domestic T20 season in India’s busy cricket calendar.
