Match Officials Confirmed for Pakistan’s Busy Home International Schedule
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the match officials for Pakistan’s upcoming home international fixtures involving Sri Lanka and the England-Pakistan-Sri Lanka ODI tri-series. The officials will oversee 12 international matches scheduled between October 9 and November 21 across the upcoming home season.
The schedule includes a three-match T20I series and a two-match World Test Championship series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. In between those assignments, Pakistan will host England and Sri Lanka for a seven-match ODI tri-series scheduled from October 18 to 31 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
Former New Zealand cricketer Jeffrey Crowe, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will lead the playing control team for all seven matches of the ODI tri-series. Crowe has extensive experience as a match referee and recently reached the milestone of officiating 700 international matches.
The ODI umpiring panel includes Pakistan’s Ahsan Raza and Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, both members of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires. New Zealand’s Wayne Knights and Pakistan’s Asif Yaqoob, Nasir Hussain, Rashid Riaz Waqar and Faisal Khan Aafreedi will also carry out umpiring duties during the tri-series.
The Test series will have Dean Cosker leading the playing control team as match referee. The former English first-class cricketer is a member of the ICC Emerging Match Referees Group and will take charge of his first Tests in the upcoming Pakistan-Sri Lanka series. Adrian Holdstock, Allahuddien Palekar and Rodney Tucker will serve as the on-field umpires across the two Tests.
For the three T20Is, ICC International Match Referee Ali Naqvi will lead the playing control team. Rashid Riaz, Nasir Hussain and Faisal Aafreedi will share on-field and third-umpire responsibilities, while Tariq Rasheed will serve as the fourth umpire in all three matches.
The announcement completes another important part of the preparations for Pakistan’s packed home schedule. With multiple formats and international teams involved, the confirmed officiating panel will now be responsible for maintaining the playing conditions and match-control procedures throughout the series.
