Pakistan batters Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel have moved up the latest ICC Men’s Test batting rankings following the conclusion of the three-match series against England. The changes came despite Pakistan suffering a 3-0 series whitewash, with Babar and Saud both improving their positions in the updated rankings.
Babar moved up two places to 13th after scoring 76 in the second innings of the third Test at Edgbaston. His innings came during Pakistan’s second effort with the bat and helped him make progress in the latest weekly rankings update.
Saud Shakeel also moved two places, rising to 16th. The Pakistan batter has remained an important part of the Test middle order and continued to feature prominently during a difficult series for the team.
The rankings update also brought major movement among England’s bowlers. Ollie Robinson climbed two places to a career-best third position after taking 21 wickets during the three-Test series. Josh Tongue also reached a career-best 11th place after claiming 19 wickets across the series.
Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas also remained among the notable movers in recent rankings updates after his strong performances during the series. The overall changes reflect the individual performances of several players even though the team result was heavily in England’s favour.
